IF Maitland Poetry Prize 2021

Open to year 5 & 6 school students enrolled in the 2021 calender year in the Hunter, Upper Hunter, Port Stephens and Lake Macquarie Regions. Entry is Free.

First Prize in Each Category: $100 Creative Word Shop Voucher
Second Prize in Each Category: Book Pack Donated by Festival Sponsors

How to Enter

Your poem must feature the festival theme, ‘if.’
Your poem must be 10-30 lines long, including the title.
Your poem can take any form, so be imaginative!
You may submit up to three entries.

*Students must be in year 5 or year 6 at the time of the festival (feb 2021)

Please only include the title and the poem itself on files uploaded through the form below.

If you enter more than one poem, please make a separate document for each poem.

Please ensure each title is listed in the submission form.

Entries must be in by midnight, January 17th, 2020

The Finalist Judges

A panel of judges will select a shortlist of poems in each catergory that will then be passed on to the finalist judges to choose the winner and runner up in each catergory
